Basic Purpose

The Budgeting and Planning Senior prepares, finalizes and implements the strategic objectives pertaining to consumer budget and marketing initiatives. The program senior is also responsible for generating key commercial KPIs and preparing budgetary forecasts and forecasting models to help prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual presentations to guide upper management decision making and drive the strategic road map discussions. Furthermore, the program oversees the planning and PMO of approved and initiated strategic actions


Main Responsibilities and Duties

•Lead the development of Zain’s consumer budgeting, planning and commercial strategy efforts by gathering intelligence from Pricing and Analytics teams, Segments and CVM  respective teams to run weekly marketing strategy formulation meetings

•Produce marketing daily and weekly KPIs reporting

•Host weekly marketing strategy formulation meetings in order galvanize consensus amongst Segments, CVM and respective internal marketing teams

•Run monthly 10+20 and 20+10 consumer revenue forecasts and liaise with finance to finalize interim monthly P&L statements

•Run quarterly and annual consumer budget forecast and reforecast and liaise with finance to socialize and finalize budget submissions

•Generate and report daily, weekly, and monthly commercial KPI’s to amalgamate intelligence and guide executive knowledge, understanding and decision-making on marketing initiatives concerning the consumer postpaid voice, prepaid voice and broadband product types

•Manage the preparation of timely and insightful analysis on the budget to determine progress against strategic budget / forecast objectives


•Ability to lead, inspire and motivate stakeholders towards a common goal

•Ability to efficiently manage one's own time and the time of others

•Familiarity with business theory and methodology, especially customer value proposition design, strategy development and business process design

•Strong understanding of corporate finance and measures of performance

•Excellent written and verbal communication, influence, and negotiation skills to express ideas and align stakeholders

•Strong analytics and quantitative background

•Solid understanding of telecommunication / technology markets

•Strong problem solving skills and ability to identify and frame key issues

•Ability to identify, assess and manage risks

•Strong organization and project management skills
